Computer glitch leads to extremely cheap beer which = busiest day ever for grocery store!

50 Back: The Brew of The Brave

A computer glitch for a Scottish supermarket chain led to one of their busiest days ever, there may also have been police needed to maintain order.  The glitch said that 3 boxes of beer (a box of beer in Scotland is a 12 pack) would only cost $18 when in was supposed to read that if you buy 3 boxes you save $18. Beer in Scotland is more expensive than in the US making 36 beers for $18 extremely inexpensive, which is why they needed police to help maintain order. Why It Is Not Fun To Be A Whitefish On The Metolius river

That is a Big Mouth

So it really can’t be too fun being a Whitefish on the Metolius River.  Mike and I were fishing this past weekend and were able to get a lot of good underwater footage.  When we watched this one though it amazed us.  First off, there are about 6 large Bull Trout that try to eat the Whitefish right in the beginning and to make matters worse for the poor fella, two decide to continue going after it when it is right next to us.  Secondly, one of the Bull Trout gets annoyed with the camera and decides he wants to eat that too.  He actually attacks the camera 3 times but only two of the bites are visible on camera.  We are putting together a much larger film that will include a lot of amazing underwater footage.  We hope that you enjoy this little teaser.  Also, below are a couple of Rainbows we caught during the Green Drake hatch later in the day.  Enjoy!

Here Are a Couple Beer Recommendations For the Weekend

Metolious Brewing Co. Golden Stone Amber

The first recommendation for those of you that are in the Northwest (it is going to be an amazing weekend) is Metolius Brewing Co. Golden Stone Amber Ale.  It is a refreshing amber that will help cool you down over the hot weekend.

Narragansett Bock

The second beer recommendation is for those of you on the East Coast hitting the water this weekend.  When Mike was back home a couple of weeks ago (please excuse his creepy mustache in the picture above) he drank some Narragansett Bock, from Narragansett Brewery, while fishing for stripers on the Cape.  Not only was it delicious but they caught a bunch of stripers too.

New Study Being Launched on Diseased Fish After Gulf Oil Spill

Studies are being done on snappers and groupers in the Florida Panhandle and they are finding an alarming number of diseased fish.  The fish have greyish brown lesions that were not seen in a study prior to the oil spill.  The diseased fish cannot be linked to the oil spill yet.  State scientists are currently looking into the connection after being prompted by fisherman.  Click here for the full article.
