Best Job Offer Ever, Signing Bonus = Year’s Supply of PBR

Year's Supply of PBR

I guess the hiring competition is getting fierce and in order to make their job offers seem better some companies are giving immediate signing bonuses that include a year’s supply of beer.  One such company, Hipster, is offering “$10,000 and a year’s supply of beer” as well as “a bicycle, pair of oversized glasses, skinny jeans, a bowtie, mustache-grooming services and a pair of boots.” I don’t know what I think about the second group of items but I would definitely be interested in the first two signing bonuses. Oh, and the beer is PBR which makes this offer that much better.

Fishing Win!

Jet Ski Fishing Rig

Sign me up, how do I get one of these!  The only other thing that I would add is a casting platform off the back for when you need to make a long fly-cast to some tailing fish.

The intro is a little long but it is definitely worth the wait. Freestyle canoeing, soon to be in the summer Olympics.

Fishing Video With Some Sweet Bug Life Footage

This seems to be a trailer for a fishing flick that came out in December. It has some great time lapse footage along with some really neat close ups of some bugs. Oh, and there are some mean looking Brown Trout near the end.

One More Reason to Love beer

Boston Marathon, Need a Beer?

Running a marathon isn’t easy, it is 26.2 miles, that is a long long way.  After running that absurd distance your immune system takes a hit.  You are extremely susceptible to infections.  A new study on the effects of drinking beer leading up to marathon has shown that the test subjects that consumed 1.5 liters of non-alcoholic wheat beer per day for two weeks leading up to the race “displayed less inflammatory reactions, a stronger immune system, less susceptibility to colds.” I want to see some test results for alcoholic wheat beer.  Just remember drinking wheat beer can help your immune system, specially if you run a marathon.

More can be read about the study here.

Trent Willmon has got it right, nothing is better than a cold beer and fishing. If you are bored of the intro jump to :50 for the song. Speaking of a cold beer and fishing pole, I can’t wait to hit the water. Here fishy fishy!

A Report in Pictures of Patagonia from Lu Warner

Patagonia Brookie

Lu Warner sent me some pics from some of his guided trips in Patagonia. Lu has been traveling and guiding in Patagonia since 1995 and he has accumulated extensive knowledge and contacts throughout the region. I hope you enjoy some of the pictures from this past season (I know that the picture of the barbecue has me drooling just as much as the picture of the brookie). If you are interested in traveling and fishing in Patagonia you should check out Lu’s website LuWarner.com and let him know that Tasty-Takes sent you over.  We will hopefully have a more thorough review of this past season coming directly from Lu.  If you happen to find yourself in the Gunnison Valley, Colorado head on up to Dragonfly Anglers in Crested Butte where Lu is a guide for over the summer.
